Swim team wins fourth SNC title

The swimming and diving team took its fourth consecutive conference title with glory on Nov. 1. The Stars set 18 personal records to bring home the title.

When they were announced conference champions, the team all jumped in the pool yelling four-peat with excitement.

“This was the most exciting memory of our season, we definitely deserved this,” said Tyler Stewart.

Nick Kuper qualified for state in two events. Kuper joined teammates Zach Tatar, Fred Schaljo and Ryan Batisto to take second place in the 200 yard medley relay pushing the team to a good start.

Kuper also swam in 200 freestyle and 100 yard butterfly both with state qualifying times.

Batisto gave the other teams a run for the title in the 50 yard and 100 yard freestyle stealing 26 points keeping the team on top.

“I could have given 50% more,” Batisto said.

Zach Tartar, Ben Schultz , Ben Johnson and Nathan Allen broke their personal records in different races.

The Stars one relay victory of the night was the 200 freestyle relay which included Schaljo, Nathan Allen, Kuper and Batisto.
